Hey, you. :-)
My name is Lindsay and I’m really glad you’re here.
Why? Because I’m a big believer in human potential and I think you have lots of it.
That fact that you clicked on that “Start Here” tab up there shows me you know you have potential, too.
You have potential to live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling. That’s the life that makes you happy, proud, and helps you become the best version of your self.
That life is your best life. Only you can define what it means for you.
But what if you feel lost, unfulfilled, overwhelmed, or pulled in a million directions?
What if you just feel bored and blah with life and don’t know where to begin to start living your best life? What is your best life anyway? Grrr, so many questions and it can be super frustrating.
Been there. Done that.
Everything changed for me around the time I turned 30. At that age you’re pretty much supposed to be a grown up, right? I looked at where I was in my life and realized that while I was definitely grown (good job, married, home ownership, friends, hobbies, volunteer work), I felt totally unfulfilled and unhappy with my life.
Was this it? Was that boring life all that I was meant for?
Going through the motions of what I was “supposed” to do meant that I’d totally lost sight of what really mattered to me and what I truly wanted my life to be.
Enough of that shit.
I made some difficult decisions, took action, and began my best life journey. I’m here to tell you: Life is so much better now.
I want that for you, too.
At the core of what I do is this belief: the world would be a better place if more of us lived those best lives we want for ourselves.
Less regret, less suffering, less wasted human potential. (Imagine the cool stuff we could do!)
More happiness, more meaning, more impact.
So how do we do that? How do we live our best lives?
Goals! (I heart goals!)
Your goals are like a shiny car that you drive on your best life journey. They’ll help you get there. You need goals because best lives don’t happen on accident.
Sure, you can coast your way into an okay life, or maybe even a good life. But not your best life. You have to live on purpose for that. Goals help you do that.
Plus, goals are fun! You’ll feel hella good knowing that you’re growing, learning, progressing, and becoming the bad-ass hero of your very own story.
My goal is to help you get your goals.
Are you ready, my soon-to-be-goal-getting friend?
Let’s do this. And let’s do it without woo or magical thinking. We don’t need that to get our goals and create and live our best lives.
You’re about to find out that there are two things I nerd out about:
- Goals (okay, you may have already figured this one out.)
- Positive psychology which is basically the study of what makes people thrive. I read about it and then pass along what I learn to you. Yay, science!
- Oh, yeah, one more—80’s pop music. (So that makes three.)
Hey, hero, what’s the point of your story?
What’s your journey and life all about?
It’s about whatever the hell you want it to be.
That’s some heavy stuff.
Before you can set meaningful goals (aka the only ones worth setting), you need to know what the point of it all is for you.
These posts will help you figure it out.
Need help figuring out which goal you should work on right now?
This will put things in perspective so you can set goals with confidence and know that you’re not about to totally waste your time and energy.
So how does one go about this goal stuff?
Let’s talk some strategies for reaching goals here:
Scared to fail? Hate to fail?
It’s an inevitable part of the goal-getting journey, so you need to read this:
Goal-setting no-no’s—seriously, just don’t even go here cuz it’s goal-setting poison
But yay! You’ll live cuz here’s the antidote:
Yeah, you’re about to get really good at goal setting and getting, my friend.
Check out the Goal Setting Strategies and Living Your Best Life pages for more insights, research, resources, and 80’s pop song references cuz there’s plenty more where that came from.
I share my own goal-getting embarrassments lessons and successes over at About. You can see my bucket list there, too.
